Created in 2005, Solid distils the architectural language of Zaha Hadid into a compact sculptural form. The elongated, fluid structure exemplifies the formal vocabulary that made Hadid one of the most influential architects of her generation. Its smooth, continuous surfaces and carved apertures create a dynamic interplay of mass and void, inviting the viewer to look through and around the object as though navigating one of her buildings. The work demonstrates Hadid’s fascination with movement, perspective and the dissolution of conventional geometric boundaries.
More than a sculptural multiple, Solid stands as a rare manifestation of Hadid’s architectural vision in collectible form. Produced at a pivotal moment in her career, it captures the experimental energy and futuristic sensibility that would come to define her internationally celebrated practice.
