Overview

Perception in Motion: Soto & Cruz-Diez at L.E. Gallery, Brussels. Four rare kinetic works explore colour, light and movement as lived experience. A focused selection of museum-quality pieces available for acquisition.

L.E. Gallery presents a focused selection of rare works by Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jesús Rafael Soto, two of the most influential figures of post-war Kinetic and Op Art. United by a shared Venezuelan heritage and a lifelong exploration of perception, both artists challenged the traditional notion of the static artwork, inviting viewers to actively participate in the creation of visual experience. Their pioneering investigations into colour, light and movement continue to resonate today.

Bringing together four exceptional works from the artists' most sought-after periods, the exhibition highlights the radical redefinition of visual experience that made Soto and Cruz-Diez central figures of international avant-garde art. Created during the decades in which both artists were closely associated with the legendary Paris gallerist Denise René, these works reflect a moment when kinetic art was reshaping the relationship between artwork, space and viewer.

Through vibrating structures, optical rhythms and shifting chromatic effects, the works reveal the artists' shared ambition to move beyond representation and activate perception itself. Rarely available on the market, and presented together in the gallery in Belgium, this carefully curated selection offers collectors a unique opportunity to acquire museum-recognised works by two of the defining masters of twentieth-century kinetic art.
